I have been hearing that a lot in the last year and a half.
If you are going to call yourself a writer you need to write.
Let’s make that personal. If I am going to call myself a writer than I need to write.
About the same time I started hearing about ‘writers writing’ I sat down to have lunch with a friend and he told me something that caught my attention. We were talking about Joel Rosenberg who is a pretty prolific writer. Joel also has a very busy schedule traveling the world and meeting with church and political leaders.
This friend told me something about Joel that has stuck with me. He tries to have a book published once a year. Hum, a busy guy like that and he also has that goal to publish a book once a year.
Could I do that? Could you? I think we can.
So, I’m going to challenge myself and you to get after it. I did publish my first book last year “The Training of a Dream Warrior” but I sort of lost focus and now I am short on time.
I have a little over four months left in this year and no book is close to publication.
What to do.
The e-book route to publication is my only chance to complete my goal of one book a year. That’s the route I will take. I have never done that but there is enough help out in the web-world to offer some help so I will be taking that help.
I have been in children’s ministry for close to thirty-five years. I have learned a few things during that time. Year after year the most commonly discussed ‘problem’ in children’s ministry is classroom discipline.
I have seen pretty much everything there is to see in the children’s ministry classroom setting. I will put that knowledge to good use.
I’m going to write an e-book about classroom discipline.
What about you? What book are you going to write this year? Challenge me please and I will challenge you. Tell me I’m crazy but encourage me to keep going and I will do the same for you.
Got to go now…I have a book to outline.
